Happy Spring Time Y’all! La Hondans and others gathered on Sunday, the last day of March, for the CLHG annual Easter Egg Hunt. Great fun, but the Golden Eggs were hard to find this year. (You too can earn one on the trophy at the Fourth of July Picnic – our next big event!)

4th of July Picnic ~ 2023
Once again, La Honda came together for a fun & spirited community event: the 4th of July Picnic sponsored by CLHG. Once again, the event was organized by Corinne Poulson with deep staff of seasoned volunteers. By her, for the newsletter…
“Another memorable 4th of July picnic in the books! Huge turnout this year. Bob White says maybe one of the biggest he’s seen. That explains why the beer and side dishes disappeared so quickly. Balloon stomp had us all on the edge of our seats. Great music. Loved seeing all the painted faces. And boy did we get lucky with the weather! All in all, a fantastic day in Playbowl.
This event cannot happen without volunteers. You know who you are and you are so appreciated! And a special shout out for the volunteers that do the behind the scenes tasks- Costco runs, loading and unloading trucks with supplies, inventory, etc. Thank you all!!
And lastly, a final BIG thanks to the following businesses that helped do their part to make the picnic go off without a hitch- Coastside Baking, Skywood Trading Post, Applejack’s Bar.
See everyone next year!”
In addition to crazy games and great music, participants enjoyed a delicious lunch. (Note for next year: more pot luck plates and more beverages.) Enjoy some videos below, time lapse and otherwise. Neighbors, send more photos that we can post…

Easter Egg Hunt ’23
Once again, the Guild sponsored an Easter Egg Hunt in the playground on Easter Sunday, April 9th. And once again, Corinne Poulson pulled together a wonderful event, organizing volunteers, getting hundreds of eggs stuffed and hidden, and recruiting the community to come out and join the fun. Can you find the Easter Bunny? And who found the Golden Egg? Check it out…
Unfortunately, the custom-made piñata was lacking in structural integrity, lasting for only one mighty blow by an accurate whacker, but perhaps it was the abundance of goodies within that brought it down so easily? In any case, the scrambling for treats continued…
Thanks to all who came out for a fun community event.

Slinging in the Rain? Cats & Dogs! Mud Happens…
Hopefully, everyone has survived the recent deluge of atmospheric rivers?
Unfortunately, there are two significant road washouts in Cuesta: one on Laguna Drive and one up by Granny Flats reservoir. Please abide by all signage, avoid approaching slides or washouts, and use caution on all our roads and trails!
Below is just one of the many mudslides along Highway 84, a raging La Honda Creek, and some tree work along Pescadero Creek Road…
